2048 Cupcakes strategy

The best strategy is simple to understand but difficult to execute under pressure: protect your largest tile, keep the board open, and avoid scattering large values across the grid.

1. Choose a corner

Try to keep the largest tile in one corner. Most strong runs use one main direction and one support direction, which helps the board grow in a stable shape instead of becoming chaotic.

2. Build a chain

Arrange values so they descend away from your largest tile. For example, keep the biggest tile in the lower-left corner and build a row that steps down from left to right.

3. Protect empty spaces

Empty cells are breathing room. A move that creates one merge but fills the board can be worse than a move that keeps four or five empty spaces alive.

4. Use the hint as a second opinion

The built-in hint weighs empty cells, possible merges, corner stability, monotonic rows, and immediate score. It is not perfect, but it is useful when the board feels stuck.

5. Save the shuffle

Frosting Shuffle is strongest when the board is crowded but still has useful pairs. Use it too early and you waste your emergency escape.
